Navigating The White House Website Now a 5 Minute Event- Why?

The large media pay reporters, bloggers and correspondents to cover the White House. Most of those workers live in and around DC.   In fact, some of those media personnel almost live at the White House and have unlimited (as far as reporters go) access to the White House, the schedules and can take their own photographs.  But, the little media, those who have small budgets or  in fact, no budget,  rely on the White House website, the government links and photographs and other public domain entities to find out the events from the day.

With the last administration, following the Presidents day was pretty simple.  Just look on the White House website and there you'd find the basic schedule of events in photograph.  On the new White House website, there are a maximum of about four photographs and most of those have been on the site for a week or so.

One could even know what the First Lady was doing simply by going to the link " First Lady" and click. But not so on this new site.  Yesterday, the news agencies  widely reported that the First Lady  visited an education group.  After visiting the White House website to find out the details of  her "first visit out" as a First Lady, no link or mention of the event occurred.

So, I'm wondering what's up with the lack of disclosure?  Does anyone know any more about this? Is there a link or additional website that discloses where and what our highest group of government personnel are doing?  Am I so far out of the loop that I don't know where to find  what my President and First Lady are doing unless I pay for newswire services?  Help me out somebody.
